Integrate Construction Partners is leading construction of the City of Clayton's Municipal Maintenance Facility improvement project, a two-phase development designed to modernize the city's public works infrastructure and support long-term operational needs.

The first phase included construction of a new 5,750-square-foot fleet maintenance building featuring five vehicle service bays, a drive-through maintenance bay with an overhead crane, staff offices, equipment storage, and dedicated shop areas. Completed in October 2026 while the city's public works department remained fully operational, the project required careful coordination to navigate environmental conditions and ongoing municipal services.

The second phase includes renovations to the existing 17,000-square-foot maintenance building, providing expanded office and training spaces, mechanical and lighting upgrades, and improved storage facilities. Additional site improvements include a new truck wash building, parking and vehicle storage canopies, upgraded fueling infrastructure, and new pavement.

Upon completion, the modernized facility will enhance operational efficiency, improve working conditions for city staff, and provide the infrastructure needed to support essential public works and parks services for the Clayton community.

Project Partners: H Design Group (Architect); Navigate Building Solutions (Owner's Representative).

Challenge

Construction of the new fleet maintenance building required navigating several site constraints while maintaining uninterrupted public works operations. Limited site access, proximity to an elevated MetroLink track, and unforeseen environmental conditions presented logistical challenges throughout construction. The project team also needed to coordinate activities around the city's ongoing fleet maintenance and winter weather operations.

Solution

Integrate worked closely with the City of Clayton, project partners, and regulatory agencies to develop construction strategies that minimized operational disruptions. The team coordinated specialized material deliveries, managed environmental remediation efforts, and adjusted construction logistics to accommodate the site's limited access.

Through proactive planning and ongoing communication, Integrate successfully completed the first phase while maintaining essential municipal operations.
