Integrate Renovating Former Monastery into New Headquarters for Nonprofit Liguori Publications

Integrate is converting the former Redemptoristine Nuns monastery at 200 Liguori Drive in Liguori, MO into the new headquarters for Liguori Publications, a leading publisher of books, pamphlets and digital resources for the Catholic community. St. Louis-based Lawrence Group is the architect on the project.

The nonprofit publisher, located at 1 Liguori Drive, acquired the neighboring former convent with the intent of renovating it for the publishing business. The monastery, which closed in April 2023, had been home to the Redemptoristine Nuns of Liguori for more than 60 years. Liguori is located about 25 miles south of St. Louis along Interstate 55.

Headquartered in Liguori for the past 75 years, the new location will be a better fit for the transforming publishing business. The new headquarters will accommodate a downsized staff of 25 people, from a high of 130 people a few years ago.

“We are moving because in the age of digital publishing we no longer publish as many paper- based products as we have in the past. People’s needs have changed and we have changed along with their needs,” said Father Thomas Santa of Liguori Publications. “Most of our staff work a hybrid work week with a few days in the office and a few days at home.”

Integrate started renovations to the former monastery in March 2024. Work on the 17,842 sq ft space includes transforming the nuns’ former bedrooms on the building’s second floor into offices and its chapel into a warehouse and production area. Integrate is also adding a loading dock to the outside of the warehouse area and converting bedrooms and laundry areas in the basement into a large storage area.

The project is expected to be completed in fall 2024.
